*Heater BTU# output is theoretical and is dependent on the coolant temperature of the UTV and the flow rate of the coolant, which varies by UTV and engine RPM. Outside (ambient) temperature the UTV is being operated in also can change heater output. That being said these 14,600 BTU Heater Units are more that capable of heating 99.99% of all UTV's
#British Thermal Unit (BTU or Btu) is a traditional unit of work needed to raise the temperature of one pound of water by one degree Fahrenheit. One four-inch wooden kitchen match consumed completely generates approximately 1 BTU.

Ice Crusher 2013 Polaris Ranger XP 900
I received my Ice Crusher Compact a few days ago. The install wasn't to bad. I thought the hard part was going to be the coolant lines but it turned out to be the easy part. I deviated from the instructions in two parts. I didn't drill a hole in the floor tunnel cover. I put the hole about 5.5 inches to the right and up about an inch. That hose went from the valve on the heater to the back. I also had to move the heater bracket about 3/8 inch out because the blower housing touched the tunnel. The brackets that mount the heater allowed for this because they are slotted. Getting the defrost hose on the heater wasn't to easy because of it being oval. I think the whole install took me about 10 hours. I'm 68 and don't work as fast as I use to. The small defroster hose could have been about 8 inches longer. I used the whole thing on the driver side and use another hose from the auto parts store for the passenger side. This kit had the two different size CNC Y fittings. They worked out very well. Now for the good part. It was 14 degrees F. this morning with a very thick layer of frost on the windshield. I started the SXS and let it idle. In about 15 minutes the windshield was defrosting. In 30 minutes of idle the windshield was completely defrosted. Later in the day I went for a ride. It was 40 degrees outside and I turned the heater off when the cab reached 82. I could have just turned the heater down. I only ran the heater on low speed except for defrosting. The heater does put out heat on idle. I don't have a thermostat bypass installed and I'm sure I will not need it. I'm very happy with this heater. On a scale of 1 to 10 I would give the heater a 10. On how hard it was to install 1 being easy. I would give it a 7 or 8. It really is a great little heater. Reply by Coupers: Thanks for the review. We are sorry about the duct hose, not sure why you ran short as the kit normally contains enough hose to complete the installation.
